Scott Flanagan

Scott Flanagan is a well-known quilter who has been living with adductor spasmodic dysphonia (SD) since 2018. Soon after his diagnosis, Scott turned his experience into an opportunity to raise awareness and support others. Within months, he organized a successful fundraiser for the National Spasmodic Dysphonia Association (NSDA), raising $2,500 with the help of his quilting community.

SD changed how Scott teaches and speaks professionally, but it never stopped him from doing what he loves. With creativity, support from family and coworkers, and a determination to keep showing up, Scott continues to inspire others to pursue their passions, even through major life changes.

Scott has also undergone SLAD-R surgery as part of his SD journey, and he continues to share his story to educate and encourage others.
