Collection Details

Veranda by Deborah Edwards and Melanie Samra has a soft, flowing look that sets it apart right away.

The prints are done in that alcohol ink style, so the color moves across the fabric instead of sitting flat. Florals, birds, and botanicals all blend into each other, giving you a layered, almost painted feel.

The palette stays light and fresh. Turquoise, greens, pinks, peach, and coral with plenty of white to keep it open. It reads like a garden in full bloom without getting heavy.

The panel gives you a strong starting point, while the coordinating prints carry packed florals, lattice, and textures that piece in easily.

This is a line that works best when you let the fabric show. Larger blocks, simple layouts, or anything that gives those prints room to breathe. It has a soft presence, but it still holds together once the quilt is finished.

Deborah Edwards

Deborah grew up surrounded by textiles thanks to parents in fashion design, and as a teen she was already hunting flea markets and thrift stores for vintage fabric and lace. That early passion became a lifelong career, beginning with a textile design degree from the Ontario College of Art and Design.

After more than two decades as VP of Design for an international company, Deborah has created fabric, bedding, wallcovering, and rug collections, including work for brands tied to Martha Stewart and Jaclyn Smith. She has also been an active member and chair holder of the Color Marketing Group for many years. Now as Design Director at Northcott, Deborah creates her own collections while also collaborating with and supporting designers across many creative disciplines.
