Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts

Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts

Edyta Sitar’s love of fabric began in Poland when she was young, creating her very first project from her mother’s drapes. That early passion grew into a lifelong creative calling.

After marrying her husband Michael, Edyta became part of the Sitar family quilting tradition. With the guidance of her mother-in-law Carol and grandmother-in-law Anna, she learned quilting at the frame and found confidence in the craft as both an artistic outlet and a meaningful way to express life’s experiences.

Edyta is the author of Reasons for Quilts (2011) and has been featured in magazines, books, and on The Quilt Show. She teaches workshops and classes, including AQS events, and shares her quilting journey through her YouTube channel. Her quilts have been exhibited internationally, including at the National Quilt Museum, and one of her quilts, Common Bride, is cataloged at the Library of Congress.

Now based in California, Edyta continues to design, teach, and inspire quilters worldwide through the stories she stitches into every quilt.
