In this class, Debbie will guide participants through making a Woven Jelly Roll Bag. This beginner-friendly project uses jelly roll strips combined with interfacing to create a woven bag with handles, binding, sides, and interior pockets.

  • Self-healing cutting mat
  • Fabric marking pen or pencil

Pattern and Materials

  • Woven Jelly Roll Bag pattern, provided free in class
  • 1 package of Bali Pops or 40 - 2 1/2" x width of fabric batik strips
  • 2 3/4 yards coordinating batik for handles, binding, sides, and interior pockets
  • 2 1/2 yards of 20" wide heavyweight stiff interfacing
  • Size 90/14 sewing machine needle
  • Painter’s tape
  • Magnetic snap closure with prongs
